Southeast Asia
The Philippines is one of Asia's most domestically dominated markets, with a Spotify top that runs almost entirely on local acts: Cup of Joe, Ben&Ben, SunKissed Lola, fitterkarma. Cup of Joe's 'Multo' has been an outlier โ 27 consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard Philippines Hot 100 and over 513 million streams as of February 2026, the most-streamed OPM song to date per Philstar. P-pop idol groups like SB19 and BINI are growing fast alongside the OPM band scene. English-language pop slots in comfortably without dominating.

Generational / regional / economic split
Listeners under thirty split between P-pop idols โ SB19, BINI, BGYO are female-leaning, while hip-hop acts like Skusta Clee and Flow G skew male โ and the OPM ballad / band tradition led by Ben&Ben, Cup of Joe and Moira Dela Torre. Older listeners stay with classic OPM ballads. Because English is so widely spoken, Western pop doesn't read as foreign in the way it does elsewhere in Southeast Asia, and Manila tastes spread out into the provinces more evenly than in neighboring markets.
