Pakistan's Spotify top is essentially 100% domestic. Abdul Hannan, Hasan Raheem and Talha Anjum lead an Urdu-language indie-pop and bedroom-pop wave that has overtaken the older Coke Studio Pakistan fusion line as the default sound of young Pakistani music. Coke Studio itself remains a national institution, and 'Pasoori' from 2022 still pulls strong long-tail streams. Sufi qawwali and classical ghazal continue as the canonical older listening.

Generational / regional / economic split

Younger listeners in Karachi and Lahore run on Urdu indie-pop and Pakistani hip-hop โ€” Talha Anjum and Talhah Yunus, the Young Stunners duo, plus a steady supply of newer acts. Older and rural listeners stay with ghazal and qawwali, with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's catalog still treated as foundational. Coke Studio episodes act as a unifying cross-generational event, with new seasons reliably producing songs that show up at family gatherings months later. Diaspora listening in the UK and Gulf states is large enough to influence what gets picked for promotion.
