Saudi Arabia

MENA

Saudi Arabia's Spotify chart is unusually multilingual because of the country's large expatriate population from the Philippines, India and Egypt. In May 2026, the chart's #1 was Arash's 'One Day' (an Iranian-Swedish artist), with the highest-placing Arabic-language pop track coming from Iraqi singer Sabah Mahmod. Across the MENA region, Egypt's Amr Diab topped Spotify Wrapped 2025, and the Khaleeji (Gulf) scene has surprisingly modest regional reach for its home market's size.

Generational / regional / economic split

Khaleeji pop, with its signature combination of oud and mijwiz, anchors older and more conservative listening and official-event programming. Younger Saudis split between Saudi hip-hop acts like Big Hass and Klash and international pop. Wealthier younger listeners trend more Western-pop-heavy, while traditional listening remains stronger in older and rural households. The expatriate workforce listening pattern shapes Spotify numbers more than it does cultural identity per se.
