Puerto Rico

Latin America & the Caribbean

Puerto Rico is the engine room of global Latin urbano. The chart is essentially 100% Boricua plus neighbors from Colombia and the Dominican Republic. Bad Bunny's 'Debi Tirar Mas Fotos' took the 2026 Grammy for Album of the Year, and Omar Courtz's 'KOKO' has become the marquee newer-generation track. Anuel AA, Eladio Carrion and Myke Towers continue to hold middle territory.

Generational / regional / economic split

Younger listeners are completely inside Reggaeton, perreo and Trap latino. Older Puerto Ricans hold space for classic Salsa (Hector Lavoe, Frankie Ruiz) and for the island's older Plena and Bomba traditions. What made Bad Bunny's 'DTMF' notable was that it folded Bomba, Plena and Jibaro elements into a mainstream Reggaeton album โ€” a roots-pivot move from the biggest urbano artist in the world rather than from a heritage project. The diaspora in Florida and New York is part of the same market in practice.
